Siag (the spreadsheet programme) comes quite close to Excel. Pathetic
Writer (the "Word" thing) is more similar to Wordpad then Word (no
table support, some minor limitations). Although it can import Siag's
files (and edit them in the document), without tables life just isn't
the same... AbiWord is claimed to be able understand MS Word files
(but it doesn't do a good job, though).

I do not think that it's possible to run Siag with muLinux (lib
problems maybe?). If someone could hack the thing a bit, they would
have themselves a very nice "office in 10 diskettes", workable on any
computer, anywhere!!!

But in mu the TCL add-on already has a small spreadsheet programme,
plus a small editor. Plus, there is TeX and Lyx.
