You have only to format the new disk partition with:
# mkfs.ext2 /dev/hdXY
After that, you may put in the /etc/fstab the following entry:
/dev/hdXY /new ext2 defaults,auto
At next boot, you will have the disk mounted in /new, or anywhere
you want.
