copy files in ums-dos

Hi again,

I'm trying to find out if I can copy files from Win/DOS to the
C:\LINUX directory (for example the SVGA.tgz I've downloaded). So far
I didn't found a way how I can do this so that MuLinux will find the
copied files. Is this possible?

In the /DOS directory is the * character added at all those files.
Why's that?

In the docs to another mini-Linux I've found that
    umssync .
can be used to update a ums file system. This does seem to work. (the
* character disapperas after running the command umssync .) Have I
found the right answer here?

So long
Peter

P.S.: Aren't my questions no FAQ's? I didn't found a FAQ reference
for MuLinux :-(
Wouldn't you think it would be a good idea to start a MuLinux FAQ?

P.P.S.: Be wary not to use umssync . in the /DOS dir itself. It
renamed my "programme" directory to a funny name which made me some
trouble (which I solved when I enabled tail names again in the
registry and renamed the directory back to "programme". I had
disabled them before to be able to run dgjpp under plain DOS, but to
be able to use it under win with long file name support...)
