The first: serial port? CGA? RGB? TTL video? cassette tape?
 
The second: serial? printer? floppy? SCSI?

Just guessing. Some of these are really old; male/female was not always
"correct" on early boxes (let's not start the argument about whether today's
"standard" is correct, please!)
